Ivo goes Up by Didier Guillon-1
Introducing the exquisite and exclusive IVO Gorilla sculpture – a masterpiece that seamlessly blends artistry, craftsmanship, and inspiration. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this remarkable piece is a testament to the fusion of creativity and skill.
Designed by the visionary artist Didier Guillon, the IVO Gorilla sculpture embodies a captivating narrative that traces its roots to the picturesque landscapes of Venice, Italy. This piece of art draws inspiration from the tranquil island of Pellestrina, nestled in the southern reaches of the Venetian lagoon. The artist's imagination soars freely on this island, where endless horizons converge with the vast expanse of the sky.
Picture a man gazing towards the horizon, where the heavens and the earth become one. It is from this very scene that the concept of Ivo's ascent takes flight. The essence of this transformative journey is captured through a wooden branch and a gorilla meticulously shaped in clay, metamorphosing into an exquisite piece cast in gold-plated brass.
As Ivo the gorilla ascends towards the infinite, the very same boundless realm that resides in the artist's gaze, the sculpture transcends the boundaries of conventional artistry. The delicate process of creation takes place in the historical Valese foundry, the oldest of its kind in Venice, Italy. Here, the rich legacy of Venetian craftsmanship converges with contemporary innovation, resulting in an edition of unparalleled beauty and significance.
Each IVO Gorilla sculpture is a part of an exclusive edition, thoughtfully conceived and meticulously brought to life in Venice. The authenticity and uniqueness of this masterpiece are further underscored by the signature of Didier Guillon, a symbol of artistic excellence. This limited edition comprises only 8 pieces, accompanied by 2 artist's proofs, adding to its rarity and collectible value.
As you bring the IVO Gorilla sculpture into your life, you embrace a narrative that seamlessly merges art, nature, and imagination. This masterpiece stands as a testament to the power of artistic expression and the age-old tradition of Venetian craftsmanship, making it a treasure worth cherishing for generations to come.
This sculpture is sand-casted by Valese foundry, founded in Venice in 1913, and is one of the few foundries still using this traditional sand-casting technique.
